GRAND OLD LIMITORQUE STILL IN OPERATION

Pictured is a Limitorque model SMA close coupled to a worm gearbox fitted to a Butterfly valve at the Greenvale reservoir inlet works.
Greenvale Reservoir is an off-stream water storage dam in northern Melbourne and has a capacity of 27,000 megalitres. The dam was opened 18 April 1973 and is now managed by 
It is situated in the upper Yuroke Creek catchment, the major tributary of the Moonee Ponds Creek.

The Limitorque SMA was first produced in 1952, the unit pictured would be an early 1970 version making it around 50 years old.

This is the first time we have ever seen it and it is still in operation, testament to the quality and longevity of Limitorque products.
